Over the last 70 years, the prosperity and success of comic books have been increasing rapidly in all corners of the globe. However, this form of literature has been accused of being a waste of time and of being completely unhelpful, so this has turned to be a matter of heated debate and of great controversy. In the following lines, I would like to prove that comic books are incredibly instructive. Are comic books at all beneficial?
Yes! Comics are very beneficial for both children and teenagers, because:
1- Comics increase their vocabulary and instill a love of reading.
2- Comics provide a great amount of information and facts about various subjects. “Well I’m not sure of Superman, Batman, X-Men and other works of fiction, but other comic books do”
3- Comic Books act as beacons of hope for young artists, for they give them great inspiration, develop their imaginations and broaden their perspectives.
4- Comics are actually a great form of entertainment. “I’m sure some parents would love to see their children reading rather than playing on the computer or chatting”
5- Comics teach children important morals and principles, especially super-hero comics that create healthy role models.
1- I think reading comics is a simplified version of reading itself, and one of its main characteristics is that it doesn’t have the complexity of real books with their endless, dense chunks of complex words and their shortage of pictures and illustrations.
2- Children find comics far more enjoyable than novels and other forms of literature; this is because comics have pictures and captions that make it much easier for them to grasp and contextualize the story.
3- Yes! Regular books may give more information and vocabulary, but sadly your child will be spending a lot of time with the dictionary rather than the book.“In case of reading in a level above than normal”
4- Reading comic books is like watching movies; this is because of the interesting pattern used in the panel order.
5- When reading regular books children can easily get lost in this huge maze of words and won’t be able to know what’s going on in the story. “In case of reading in a level above normal”
So don’t you ever be embarrassed because you read comic books, it’s actually a matter of pride.
